You can use these hacks to change the appearance of Firefox by hiding menus, hiding the separator bars, removing menus or even move the tabbar to the bottom.

This file does not exist by default, so you will have to create it yourself the first time. If you can’t find the location in the chart I give you, make sure you are able to view your hidden folders/files, since I know XP for sure hides them.

To create the userChrome.css file in windows: Open a text editor (notepad or wordpad) and save the file as "userChrome.css" into a directory listed below according to the OS your using. To edit userChrome.css after it’s created just right click on the file and select ‘Edit’, then edit the file using wordpad or notepad.

Now that thats out of the way it’s time to customize Firefox behind the scenes. All you have to do is copy and paste these settings on a new line in the userChrome.css file and save the file. Next time you open up Firefox the settings will be applied until you delete the setting out of the userChrome.css file.

Top US justice official to resign Paul McNulty McNulty has been in the job for 18 months US Deputy Attorney General Paul McNulty is to resign from his job. He had been caught up in the row over the Bush administration’s decision to sack several federal prosecutors. The move was seen by some as politically motivated, but the Justice Department says they were fired because they didn’t do their jobs well. Mr McNulty was "a dynamic and thoughtful leader" said his boss, Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, in a written statement. In a statement, he said he would leave his position some time in the late summer. "The financial realities of my college-age children and two decades of public service lead me to a long overdue transition in my career," he added.

Hamas and Fatah made a deal after two days of bitter street violence, government spokesman Ghazi Hamad said. However, past agreements have failed to hold and there were sporadic gunfights on the streets overnight, in which a Hamas member was reported killed. Nine people have now died since Sunday, with 30 others injured in the worst outbreak of violence in several months. The Palestinian Authority mobilised all of its security forces in an attempt to end the street battles on Monday. Egyptian mediators were said to have negotiated a deal on Sunday night, but Monday brought renewed fighting.

Wolfowitz ‘broke World Bank laws’ World Bank president Paul Wolfowitz Paul Wolfowitz is mired in a scandal regarding payments to his girlfriend A panel of executives at the World Bank says its President Paul Wolfowitz broke bank rules in awarding a substantial pay rise to his girlfriend. The directors said the full board of the World Bank should consider whether Mr Wolfowitz was still able to provide effective leadership. He is due to appear before the full 24-member board on Tuesday. The board has the power to dismiss Mr Wolfowitz, reprimand him or report a lack of confidence in his leadership. In remarks released ahead of the board meeting, the panel said Mr Wolfowitz provoked a "conflict of interest" at the World Bank. It ruled he had broken the bank’s code of conduct and violated the terms of his contract. The full board must address the issue of Mr Wolfowitz’s ability to continue in his job, the panel urged. A spokesman for the US treasury secretary said the panel’s findings did not merit Mr Wolfowitz’s dismissal.
