Google just changed its Google Adsense policy where Google now allows 3 “link unit” ads in one page instead of the previous only 1 “link unit” ad in one page.
As I said before, “link unit” ad is a must for a blog to make money from Google Adsense program. And, in this blog, I get almost 50% CTR through the “link unit” ad alone.

Hardware failures can have mysterious faces - computer crashes, display anomalies or read/write errors when accessing your hard drive. Usually, what you do is install new drivers, then you look at adjusting settings within your operating system, you search BIOS for relevant options or go the whole nine yards and exchange components such as the main memory. But your computer just won’t run smoothly.
Not only operating systems or device drivers cause malfunctions of your system. Not even the latest hardware such as quad core processors and terabyte hard drives can prevent hardware failures. Hardware manufacturers typically define a certain lifetime for every component of your computer or laptop. This tends to be five years for hard drives, but other components may have longer life expectancies. Building blocks such as processors, memory, the motherboard or graphics cards usually keep up their work for much longer - if always operated and cooled properly. But no crystal ball can tell you the life expectancy you will get.

Keyless Entry
Now don’t tell the co-op board, but I crafted a plan to ditch my Mul-T-Lock key for good. My apartment building, of course, uses an intercom system to remotely unlock the front door for guests, deliveries, etc. This keychain upgrade gets me in the front door… keylessly.

For Firefox users, Windows Update usually becomes the only time we are forced to run Internet Explorer. But it doesn’t have to be that way.
Since Windows Update requires an ActiveX control in order to run, it’s impossible to exclude Internet Explorer completely, so you will need to install IETab first, the magical Firefox extension that lets you open a web page with Internet Explorer within Firefox in a couple of clicks.
Once it is installed, you will need to replace the Windows Update shortcut in the All Programs menu. To do this:
Since IE Tab includes update.microsoft.com in its list of sites to render using IE, the next time you select Windows Update from the All Programs menu, it will launch in a Firefox tab.
Yet another alternative that doesn’t require IE or even IETab is WindizUpdate, an independent site that provides a Firefox plugin to detect and download patches your computer is missing. I haven’t tried it but according to comments I’ve read around it seems to be even smarter than Windows Update as it identifies what Windows components you have installed and only offers relevant patches.

Update Windows within Firefox

Windows only: Joining the ranks of Crossloop, iRemotePC and LogMeIn, TeamViewer lets you connect to other PCs for remote access, tech support, file sharing and more.
The tiny setup program gives you the option of configuring your PC in host or client mode, or skipping installation altogether (in which case TeamViewer runs without installing anything). I chose the latter option on two PCs: one running XP, the other, Vista. From there I simply entered a numeric ID and password generated by the software, and presto: Instant remote access. In addition to controlling the other PC, I could transfer files and chat with the other user (myself, in this case). By enabling server mode, I was able to switch directions and share my desktop with the other PC–neat for showing presentations, demonstrations, etc.
TeamViewer works around firewalls and promises 1024-bit RSA private/public key exchange and 128-bit RC4 session encoding. In other words, it’s pretty secure. It also has at least one advantage over each of the three aforementioned remote-access programs, so if you’re interested in connecting to another computer from afar, give TeamViewer a try. The program is free for personal, non-commercial use, and it requires Windows 98 or later

If you send documents over FAX very rarely, it doesn’t make much sense to invest in a traditional fax machine - Internet based online FAX services are plenty and should be good enough for you in most cases.
Today we share a very interesting email to fax service that is absolutely free, you can send an unlimited number of faxes and best of all, the service covers most cities in the world.
Called TMC, this Internet fax service allows you write a FAX message either in a based web form or you can send an email message to a special address that contains the fax machine number of the recipient as well as the coverpage text.
For instance, if you like to congratulate Sergey Brin on his marriage with Anne Wojcicki, send an email to the following address:
remote-printer.Sergey_Brin/Google_Inc@16502530001.iddd.tpc.int
[Google fax machine number: 650-253-0001]
The cover page of the fax will say:
Please deliver this facsimile to:
Sergey Brin
Google Inc.
TMC Fax can also deliver image attachments and rich text formatted messages on the recipient’s fax machine. If the fax message delivery fails for some reason, you get a failure notification via email.

Google makes most of their money from online advertising. While it is technically possible to block Google ads on web pages through Firefox extensions or by modifying the hosts file, these hiding methods are mostly implemented by tech-savvy users and may not have that big an effect on Google’s revenue.

UserChrome.css
You can use these hacks to change the appearance of Firefox by hiding menus, hiding the separator bars, removing menus or even move the tabbar to the bottom.
This file does not exist by default, so you will have to create it yourself the first time. If you can’t find the location in the chart I give you, make sure you are able to view your hidden folders/files, since I know XP for sure hides them.
To create the userChrome.css file in windows: Open a text editor (notepad or wordpad) and save the file as "userChrome.css" into a directory listed below according to the OS your using. To edit userChrome.css after it’s created just right click on the file and select ‘Edit’, then edit the file using wordpad or notepad.
Locations to create the userChrome.css file:
95/98/ME — c:\windows\Application Data\Phoenix\Profiles\[profile-name]\[#s].slt\chrome\
NT — %UserProfile%\Application Data\Phoenix\Profiles\[profile-name]\[#s].slt\chrome\
2000/XP — C:\Documents and Settings\[USER]\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\default.tea\chrome\
*NIX — ~/.phoenix/[profile-name]/[#s].slt/chrome/
Now that thats out of the way it’s time to customize Firefox behind the scenes. All you have to do is copy and paste these settings on a new line in the userChrome.css file and save the file. Next time you open up Firefox the settings will be applied until you delete the setting out of the userChrome.css file.
